Job Summary:

As the VP of Strategic Planning & Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of Chargebee’s Product Operations, fostering robust documentation practices, and providing exceptional support to our customers. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering excellence. Additionally, you will be expected to serve as a change agent, driving initiatives to promote innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership Management: Oversee partnerships and collaborations with external entities to enhance product offerings and market positioning.
  • Innovation Leadership: Lead initiatives to explore new technologies and methodologies that can be integrated into product development and operations.
  • Program Management Oversight: Ensure program management practices align with organizational goals and effectively drive initiatives to completion.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Manage and assess the product portfolio to ensure it aligns with strategic business goals and market needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product development processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives to improve product release cycles, resource allocation, and project management methodologies.
  • Implement and optimize tools and systems to support product operations.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation standards for product specifications, features, and user guides.
  • Technology Strategy Alignment: Ensure technology strategies align with product development goals and customer needs. Implement best practices product development methodologies, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and agile practices.
  • Operational Analytics and Intelligence: Develop and implement advanced analytics capabilities to drive operational decision-making and strategic insights.
  • Risk Management in Product Operations: Establish a comprehensive risk management framework for product development and operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent, driving initiatives to promote innovation and continuous improvement.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Operational Efficiency Optimization: Lead initiatives to streamline business processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted operations under various scenarios.
  • Program and Portfolio Management: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple, complex programs and product portfolios.
  • Risk Management Knowledge: Deep understanding of risk management principles and their application to product operations and technology initiatives.
  • Innovation and R&D Experience: Experience leading research and development efforts to foster innovation within product operations.
  • Launch Strategy Development: Guide the creation of comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new products or features, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Cross-Departmental Launch Collaboration: Facilitate seamless collaboration across departments to ensure successful launch execution. Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving alignment across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Market Readiness and Launch Evaluation: Oversee market analysis and readiness assessments prior to launch and evaluate launch success against defined KPIs.

Must Have:

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in product operations, technical documentation, and customer support roles within the Saas/ product/ fintech related industry. 
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling product operations, documentation, and/or support functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience in Launch and Go-to-Market Strategies: Proven capability in developing and executing successful go-to-market and launch strategies for new products or features.
  • Expertise in Business and Operational Strategy: Demonstrated experience in optimizing business operations, including process streamlining, business continuity planning, and operational risk management.
  • Strategic Partnership Management: A track record of establishing and managing effective partnerships and collaborations to enhance product offerings and market positioning.
  • Innovation and Research & Development: Experience leading innovation initiatives and research and development efforts to integrate new technologies and methodologies into product operations.
  • Advanced Program and Portfolio Management: Strong background in managing complex programs and product portfolios, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • C-Suite Engagement and Strategy Alignment: Proven experience working closely with C-suite executives to align product operations and technology strategies with overarching business objectives.
  • Leadership in High-Level Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to contribute to high-level strategic decision-making processes, providing insights and recommendations that shape company direction and policy.
  • Executive Communication and Influence: Exceptional communication skills tailored to engaging and influencing C-suite executives, fostering strong executive relationships, and driving organizational change at the highest levels.
