Principal, Revenue Solutions - Field CFO

Date: Sep 16, 2026

Location: Remote, US

Company: Chargebee Technologies Private Limited

About Chargebee:

Chargebee is a leading provider of billing and monetization solutions, empowering businesses with recurring revenue models to streamline revenue and finance operations, capture actionable insights, and drive growth. Chargebee is trusted by businesses of all sizes — including Zapier, LegalZoom, Freshworks, DeepL, Condé Nast, and Lambda — and is consistently recognized as a Leader in Subscription Management on G2. Our headquarters are in North Bethesda, Maryland, with team members primarily in India, the US, and Europe.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an individual who can act as the “general manager” of Chargebee's Revenue Recognition (RevRec) solution as a full business within our broader monetization platform, in partnership with the Product Manager.

Chargebee's solution enables end-to-end monetization across every revenue channel: companies may enter through our billing and monetization infrastructure, through the RevRec solution alone, or through an expansion into accounting solutions for existing customers. In each case, the revenue accounting solution must fit within the customer's broader financial architecture — connecting to the close process, supporting audit readiness, and presenting properly in the company's financial statements.

This person will co-own the go-to-market, commercial success, customer experience, and product direction of the RevRec solution — partnering closely with the product manager who builds the capabilities, and exercising authority over how the full solution (product + AI agents + forward-deployed experts + managed services) is assembled, priced, sold, and delivered.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Commercial Performance

  • Own a revenue target tied to new RevRec ARR, expansion within existing accounts, and new solution packages sold
  • Own a pipeline target in partnership with Sales and Marketing
  • Set pricing strategy and package structure for the RevRec solution in collaboration with product leadership
  • Participate as the senior SME on strategic RevRec sales cycles — including pre-sales, customer presentations, and executive-level conversations

Customer Experience & Adoption

  • Own the end-to-end customer experience for RevRec — from pre-sales through implementation, go-live, and ongoing close-process maturity
  • Define and continuously improve the implementation methodology, supported by the PS&I team
  • Hold accountability for a customer adoption metric: customers who have reached stable, auditor-defensible revenue accounting on Chargebee's platform
  • Own an advocacy metric: customers who publicly reference or actively promote their RevRec deployment

Solution Design & Product Direction

  • Define what the RevRec "solution" is at any point in time — which capabilities are in the product, which are handled by AI agents, which require forward-deployed engineers, and which require managed services either internally or through partnerships
  • Partner with the RevRec product manager to translate customer accounting needs, close-process requirements, and audit-readiness demands into product roadmap priorities
  • Act as the voice of the customer and the accounting profession in product decisions — not as a feature requester, but as a domain authority who can distinguish what must be built from what is better handled through process or expertise
  • Define the proper customer experience across the full solution lifecycle
  • Identify and work with partners that can serve to support the overall solution delivery and on-going maintenance

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Head of Marketing — drive content strategy, campaign design, and thought leadership to generate RevRec pipeline; own the RevRec point of view externally
  • Head of Sales — enable AEs and AMs on RevRec positioning, competitive differentiation, objection handling, and pricing; define the sales process and qualification criteria
  • Head of PS&I — co-own the implementation methodology, post-go-live stability protocol, and escalation paths for accounting disputes
  • Head of Customer — partner on renewal health, expansion signals, and advocacy development across the full RevRec customer base

Reporting & Key Relationships:

This role will report directly to the Head of Solutions, with critical day-to-day relationships spanning the full GTM and product organization. Success depends on sustained partnership across:

  • COO — strategic alignment, commercial accountability, and cross-functional air cover
  • Head of Solutions — implementation methodology, delivery quality, and field expertise coordination
  • RevRec Product Manager — roadmap co-development and solution definition
  • Head of Marketing — RevRec positioning, content, thought leadership, and pipeline generation
  • Head of Sales — AE/AM enablement, pricing authority, and strategic deal participation
  • Head of PS&I — implementation process, go-live standards, and post-deployment support model
  • Head of Customer — portfolio health, expansion, and customer advocacy

Must Have:

  • 10–12+ years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or revenue advisory roles — with deep applied knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 in SaaS or subscription environments
  • Direct experience with the accounting close process — reconciliations, journal entries, subsidiary ledger management, audit support, and financial statement presentation of deferred revenue and contract assets/liabilities
  • Proven ability to advise Controllers, VPs of Finance, and CAOs — and to earn trust in rooms where accounting compliance decisions are made
  • Experience designing and implementing accounting policies for complex arrangements: multi-element deals, contract modifications, usage-based components, variable consideration, and renewals
  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring revenue recognition systems or other accounting-based systems
  • A solution and business-builder mindset: ability to think beyond individual engagements to how a business grows, how a customer base is managed as a portfolio, and how a product evolves to serve that market
  • Track record of commercial impact — whether through building a practice, generating pipeline, expanding accounts, or shaping a product that customers paid for

Background (one or more of the following)

  • Big 4 or national firm (Deloitte, KPMG, EY, PwC, Grant Thornton, BDO, RSM, Crowe) — revenue or technical accounting practice
  • Revenue accounting advisory or implementation firm (Connor Group, Slalom, Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte Digital, or similar)
  • Finance leadership in a SaaS company with ownership of the revenue accounting function

Compensation Data:

  • Base Salary: $225,000
  • Variable Compensation: Up to $75,000, tied to revenue target, pipeline target, customer adoption metric, and advocacy metric
