Job Summary:

The Payroll Manager will lead and manage all aspects of global payroll operations (US, India & EU)  for our rapidly growing company and must be a strategic and tactical leader, with a track record of success. This position will be responsible for ensuring Chargebee’s payroll practices are best in class and meet the needs of our ever evolving global footprint. This position will act as the liaison in resolving complex business opportunities with internal and external partners.. The role requires a candidate with ability to manage and improve the payroll operations (performance metrics, internal controls, compliance, automation…) as well as to manage payroll transformation projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees multiple country payroll, tax and compliance laws while coordinating efforts around local benefits and statutory requirements

  • Oversee and optimize the payroll management system, ensuring that it is up-to-date, efficient, and aligned with the company's Business controls and Audit compliance needs

  • Responsible for developing and communicating team vision and goals

  • Manages 3rd party vendors to monitor service levels and negotiate the best results and outcomes for the team

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across, Accounting, Compliance, Finance, Revenue Operations and Legal teams as necessary

  • Responsible for ensuring the team has strong controls and checklists in place for reconciliation, variance analysis and documenting procedures

  • Build scalable processes to support onboarding and offboarding across the geographies Chargebee operates in  

  • Continuously improve the payroll process by identifying opportunities and implementing changes to streamline the payroll process, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.

Skills and Experience:

  • Preference for candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related Finance field

  • Minimum 10 years experience in working on multi country payroll (required experience in the US, Indian Amsterdam and EU)

  • Experience in Integrations with HRIS systems is a plus

  • 5 years experience administering global payroll systems 

  • Experience with outsourced payroll compliance vendors (e.g. ADP) and selection/administration required

  • Strong project and program management skills to develop, identify and implement global payroll systems and processes to bring in consistency across regions. 

  • Strong analytical skills to identify potential impact and implications of business decisions on payroll operations while mitigating risk to the business
